Group Emotional Intelligence(GEI) is a new topic that crossess the study of teamand emotional intelligence. This concept is put forward by Druskat and Wolff in2001and is defined as the ability to develop a set of norms that manage emotionalprocesses so as to cultivate trust, group identity, and group efficacy. While studieshave been done for several years in West, that is scarce in China. This study collectdata from61teams involved213employees to assess the relationship between GEIand Team Psychological Safe Climate(TPSC),and the influence of team task type andteam gender ratio on GEI. Hamme’s Group Emotional Intelligence Queationnair andWu and Chen’s Team Psychological Safety Climate was used. We concluded that GEIand TPSC was positively correlated. Moreover, teams of different task type weresignificantly different on six norms-Perspective Taking; Interpersonal Understanding;Team-Self Evaluation; Seeking Feedback; Creating Resources for Working withEmtions and Creat an Affirmative Environment. Specifically, teams about techniqueere significantly higher than other task type teams on most norms. By contrast,National authority teams were significantly lower than others. Lastly, teams ofdifferent gender ratio were significantly different on five norms-Perspective Taking;Team Self Evaluation; Creat Resources for Working with Emotion; BuildingRelationships with External Sources and Ambassadorial Orientation. Teams withall female employees were higher on most norms than other teams. However, thatwith more than50%male were lower than others on most norms.
