Research On China's Food Safety Regulatory System Government

Food is the material basis of human survival and social development, food safety not only concerns people’s health and life safety, but also relates to the harmony and stability of social. Taking food security as an important component of national security, many governments of the world make laws and regulations to regulate food production、circulation and consumption of a series of links With the continuous development of society and improvement of the material life level gradually, food quality taking the place of food number has become the focus of public attention. In recent years, food safety accidents has emerged endlessly in China, from Sudan to melamine, from poison bean sprouts to carcinogenic milk, from illegal cooking oil to gelatin, making food safety become one of the hottest social topics. Many problems of food safety, to a certain extent caused consumers to trust crisis of food industry and government regulation in our country, which threatens the government’s credibility. In our social environment, government regulation plays an important part to improve food safety status. Therefore, the management of government by utilizing the method of scientific research and technology, has very important sense to improve food safety status.This article, from the perspective of public management, makes the food safety government regulation as the research object, clarifies the necessity of government regulation on food safety based on market failure theory and public goods theory, using the methods of literature analysis, case analysisa, induction and deduction. We can analys the present situation, the problems and reasons of food safety regulation in China. Finally the article puts forward several opinions and suggestions for the improvement of food safety government regulation in our country:to clarify regulatory body and strengthen responsibility, to accelerate the construction of food safety supervision system, to improve food safety regulation technology, to build a good food safety regulatory environment.
