Since the start of economic reform in China, Guangdong has been in the forefront ofdomestic reform and opening up have made outstanding contributions to explore economicdevelopment, economic cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong is leading thetrend of the times, driven by Guangdong’s economic take-off, to deepen the domestic systemreform provides a good demonstration. The successful implementation of "one country, twosystems”, Hong Kong and Guangdong has been more and more common interests, to ensurethe long-term development of both sides regional integration.The economic cooperationbetween Guangdong and Hong Kong has been transformed from the early production of unityof cooperation for the full range of economic cooperation; the two economies are in-depthdevelopment of economic integration.2008U.S. subprime mortgage crisis and the subsequent outbreak of the European debtcrisis, economic globalization has caused a great impact in the new situation, how to play theadvantages of economic cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong, to adjust thedirection of development, is currently facing important tasks.In this paper, an overview of the course of development of the economy on both sides,the use of the relevant principles of economics to analyze the status of the Guangdong-HongKong economic development, theory with practice. Normative analysis and empirical methodof combining. Summed up the pros and cons of the two economic developments, and pointedout the direction of future development.Through the analysis summarized play the advantages of the two is the real task ofco-operation between Hong Kong and Guangdong, the Guangdong-Hong Kong economicregional integration is the only way for the development of Guangdong and Hong Kong in thefuture.
