With the increasingly prominent problem of energy and environment, thedevelopment of new energy vehicles gradually gets widespread attention. Thispaper makes a systemic research on the business model of the new energy vehicleindustry, from the unique perspective of business model. First of all, this paperexpounds the model’s meaning, constituent elements and main types. Secondly, onthe basis of the business model elements, we construct the evaluation index system and usethe analytic hierarchy process to determine each index weight. Thirdly, this paper makes anempirical study on typical cases of China’s new energy vehicle industry’s business modelusing the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Finally, based on above theoreticalresearch and empirical analysis, targeted suggestions have been given to improve thebusiness model.The study results show that the business model of new energy vehicle industryis an organic system which contains five key elements: value proposition, businessmodel, market achievement, value strategy and the operating environment. In thecomplex new energy vehicle business model, stainable and stable profitability,price in value proposition, and the cost occupy an important position with greaterweight. The general business model of China’s new energy vehicle industry stays inthe "medium"; its value proposition and value strategy have a relative low level,which affects the overall level of the business model. In order to promote China’snew energy vehicle industry business model, we should enhance the valueproposition, innovate the business model, push forward the market achievement,strengthen the value strategy and optimize the business environment.
