| Since the reform and opening up, China’s grain production has made remarkable achievements. Grainproduction has increased for nine consecutive years, which lay a solid foundation for the rapid developmentof the national economy. However, grain production has brought tremendous pressure for arable land andwater resources, and it was more and more obvious. How to develop appropriate food production targetsand establish the grain production targets that not only meets people’s nutritional needs but can help solvethe pressure of arable land and water resources, it has important theoretical and practical significance. This paper has made a comprehensive review about the change trend, structure changes and layoutchanges of grain production since the founding of New China, analyzed the contribution of the delivery ofgrain nutrients, studied ration consumption level of Chinese residents which was based on the reasonablenutrition goals demand and feed grain consumption levels which was based on reasonable food structure. While it raised the level of industrial use of grain and seed grain consumption under the well-off standardof living, and then put forward China’s grain production targets based on the nutritional needs of the targetin different periods, and provided policy recommendations for the optimization of China’s grain productiontarget. We could draw the following conclusions by research:(1) We choose propotion the energy, protein and fat which is provided by grain take up in the tatal asthe nutrient intake and dietary status evaluation index, we can find that No matter in urban or ruralarea, energy, protein, fat provided by grain has been decreasing since the past10years, however, grain isstill the main source of residents’energy, protein and fat;(2) According to dietary guidelines for Chineseand intakes of dietary nutrients recommended by Chinese Nutrition Society, we use the food and nutritiontransform model and found the conclusion, when daily per capita energy level is2200Kcal, daily per capitaration demand is481.24g; when daily per captia protein is70g, daily per capita feed grain is266.5g;(3)Chinese residents’s per capita grain which based on the nutrition goals was significantly higher than thelower limit of well-off level(400kg/person). The targets of grain production based on the nutritional needswill be611million tons and654million tons in2020and2030, lower than the per capita grain standards by45million tons and92million tons, and savings grain is by7.4%and14.1%, saving arable land areaapproximately8.49million hectares hectares and17.36million hectares, the saving water resources is90billion tons and18.4billion tons.At last, this paper brought related policy suggestions to balance China’s grain supply and demand. |
