The Impact Effect Research Of Labor Structure’s Change To Energy Consumption In China

In the past ten years, our country’s urbanization process speed up steadily, thelevel of industrialization proved constantly, the residents’ quality of life also has arapid development. Along with the development trend, in the coming decades, thetotal energy consumption in China will continue to increase steadily. Most of ourcountry’s current energy consumption belongs to the non renewable resources,sustained growth of energy consumption will consume large amounts of energyresources in our country, and this will lead to energy failure. In addition, the basiccondition of the energy distribution in China is "rich coal, less gas, lack of oil", thislead to our country’s energy consumption is given priority to coal, and low carbonenergy resource options are limited, accompanied by serious environmental problemsin the process of energy consumption. So our country’s economic developmentprocess faces with the conflict between population and energy stocks, whether canrealize the coordination and sustainable development between population and energyis an important issue that our country now facing.The research goal of this paper is to give a comprehensive analysis on therelationship between labor structure changes and energy consumption, through thegranger causality test, construct the VAR model, and depict the pulse responsefunction figure. On this basis, based on the perspective of our country’s labor forcestructure, put forward some related policy Suggestions to reduce the consumption ofenergy in our country. In view of the above problems, this research work and maincontribution is centered in the following respects:Firstly, summarize the domestic and foreign research present in the relevant areasto provide theoretical support for the research and constructing the VAR model,analyze the influencing factors of energy consumption and absorb forefathers’research results in this respect, on this basis, have a further research about the impacteffect of the labor force structure on energy consumption.Secondly, analyze the current development situation of labor force structure andenergy consumption in our country, carry on the preliminary analysis on the reasonsof the change of labor force structure and energy consumption; then, analyze thecausality between the labor force structure (Urban and rural structure, industrialstructure and quality structure) and energy consumption with the granger causalitytest. On this basis, construct the VAR model to empirical analysis the impact effect ofour country’s labor force change on energy consumption, and analyze the empiricalresult with impulse response function diagram.Finally, according to the analysis result, put forward the policy suggestions toreduce the consumption of energy in our country, based on the labor force structureperspective.
