Consumption refers to the use of social products to meet the various needs of thepeople, is divided into production consumption and personal consumption. Theconsumption of the rural residents belong to the areas of personal consumption,including individuals and families to clothing, food, housing, line of consumer goods.The thesis on the basis of previous research, and finds that the Chinese rural residents’consumption appears the change of the stages with the Chinese economic systemreform and the development of the Chinese economy, and analysis the differences ofthe two stages.This thesis is divided into five parts, the first part is the introduction, includingthe purpose and significance of the topic, the related research both at home andabroad, the ideas and methods of the research. The second, third, fourth part is the keypart of the thesis, including the construction of Index System, the rural residents’consumption stage and the empirical analysis of the difference phases of the ruralresidents’ consumption. The fourth part is the core of the thesis, the rural residents’consumption stage differences is analyzed through three aspects——the relationshipbetween income and consumption, consumption structure, the factors affecting theconsumption. The fifth part is the summary, and put forward the suggestion topromote rural residents’ consumption growth.This thesis from the rural residents’ consumption stage divided starting, throughthe H-P filter, the rural residents per capita consumption is divided into two phases. Inthe subsequent empirical analysis, through the flexibility, the state space model, thelinear regression model, ELES model, VAR model and Granger test and so onanalysis the two stages. By comparing the differences in the different stages, come tothe problems facing the consumption of rural residents. Finally, according to theabove analysis put forward the suggestion to promote rural residents’ consumptiongrowth.
