Study On Top Management Team Competency Based On Cluster Upgrade Guide

With the clusters economic continuous developing and the influence going toincrease, clusters issues are also exposed. How to solve the problem and promote theupgrading of industrial clusters has become a key step on the path of clusters development.While as the core of an enterprise, top management team plays an important role in thedevelopment of enterprises and promoting the upgrading of clusters. Because of neglect ofthe cluster upgrade guide in the previous TMT competency study, this article tried toconstruct the cluster enterprises’ top management team competency model according tothe cluster upgrade guide.First, this paper expounded and remarked the research status of cluster upgrading andtop management team competency. Then, expounded related theories of cluster upgradingand top management team competency. The diamond model theory and the iceberg modelwere described; some sources of cluster upgrade and competency research method werelisted.Second, this study determined cluster upgrading oriented based on the diamondmodel theory, and added the diamond model theory, proposed the requirements of clusterupgrade orientation, and then put forward the competency9dimensions and42factors ofTMT in cluster enterprises.Third, with basic information and subjects designed, the questionnaire was completedby using these competencies. Then the paper analyzed reliability, validity and homologouserror of the questionnaire. Having finished exploratory factor analysis, it finally came up10competencies of enterprise top management team and constructed the model.Finally, the data were collected again aiming at verifying the model. Using structuralequation modeling carried out confirmatory factor analysis to the model, and the analysisresults showed that the model fit the data better. Then based on the output of the model,this paper evaluated the competencies of the surveyed TMT and suggested.
