With the rise of the knowledge economy, more importance has been given to the motivationto the knowledge workers. The quality and activity of the staff becomes the driving force of thecompany development. Therefore, motivating staff is the key problem which decides thesuccess of a company.This paper makes a study on the incentive mechanism of X Company, and it finds theinappropriate incentives leading to the poor enthusiasm of the staff and the lack of the power ofinnovation of the company. Using the related theories at home and abroad,the paper redesignsthe incentive mechanism of this company in order to improve the knowledge workers’enthusiasm, initiative and creativity and lead to the sustainable development of the company.Firstly, this paper introduces the purpose and the background of the research. Then, itintroduces the theory of incentives and the characteristics of knowledge workers. Thirdly, basedon the questionnaire, the paper collects the first-hand materials of the motivation preferences ofknowledge workers in X Company. After analyzing the data, the paper gives the advices to themotivation mechanism of the X Company.
