Foreign studies have demonstrated the positive effects of proactive personality on employee’s creativity. However, none of domestic scholars has explicitly explored this positive relationship. The more important is that, the interal influence process between proactive personality and empoyee’s creativity have not been detected. The present study attempts to get findings about whether there is a positive effects of proactive personality on employee’s creativity in organizations from China. Meanwhile, drown on the social captial and social cognitive perspectives, we aimed to examine two mediating effects of information exchange and creative sfle-efficacy between proactive personality and employee’s creativity. Additional, we introduced deledation as a situational factors to discuss how the proactive personality will affect employee’s creativity with different level of delegation.Structured questionnaires were designed as the research instrument for this study. All multi-item scales were translated from English through a scientific procedures and measured on a Likert scale (1="strongly disagree,"7="strongly agree"). The valid sample consisted of10IT companies’93supervisors and365subordinates from Shenzhen. We used SPSS17.0and AMOS6.0to test convergent validity&discrimination validity of the data, and hierarchical regression to test the five theoretical hypotheses in our study.Research results showed that:for companies in China, there was still a positive relationship between proactive peraonality and employee’s creativity; information exchange and creative self-efficacy mediated the relationship between proactive personality and employee’s creativity; delegation moderated the effect of proactive personality on information exchange in such a way that the relations were stronger for those higher delegation rather than lower; delegation did not moderate the relationshipn between proactive personality and creative self-efficacy. Research results were discussed in the end.
