Quality Study On R&D Process Of ABC Company

ABC Company is a famous enterprise to design, produce and sell cosmetic plastic packaging. Product quality has become one of the most important factors to survive due to the fierce competition. Also, management has placed emphasis for R&D to focus on new product quality. So, it’s very useful and urgent to investigate and study the quality on R&D process of ABC Company.The paper analyzes the quality data on R&D process of ABC Company. The root cause on quality issues had been investigated with some methods and theories, such as Six-Sigma, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Total Quality Management (TQM) and Zero Defect Management (ZD). The4steps on R&D process had been focused and given related solutions&strategies. The first step was to communicate well with customers and get all requirements at the project beginning. The second step was to control risks with FMEA and system methods at the evaluation of new projects. The third step was to approve the color range board and defect range board with customer face-to-face, in order to produce smoothly and steadily at the validation of new projects. The last step was to decide the tolerance of key dimensions and functions with SPC to analyze the process, and make the specification through the trial process. After process improved, the customer complaints have been decreased quickly, the cost has been saved for R&D, the projects schedule have been shortened. Then ABC Company has gained more market share due to good quality on R&D process.In order to solve the quality issues in R&D process systematically, and continue to make some improvements on R&D process, the quality control system has been found at ABC Company, which is very useful to improve quality on cosmetic and plastic packaging industry...
