We should be strict to the conditions of the transport inthe whole process of logistics, or that will result in some problems about foodsafety.On the basis of cold chain logistics, firstly, the paper researched thelogistics mode of food enterprises and delved four logistics modes, includingself-supporting logistics model, the third party logistics model, the logisticaalliance mode of the third party and supply chain logistics mode, whoseadvantages, disadvantages, limitations and applicable conditions to ensurefood safety. Then, about the third party logistics model, the paper buildedprincipal-agent model bentween food enterprises and the third party logisticsservice providers analysed the basic conditions of food enterprises adoptingthe third party logistics model and measures of food enterprises using toencourge the third party logistics service provider. Lastly, against thebackground of using the the third party logistics model, the research did adetail analysis on how to select the suitable the third party cold chain logisticsservice provider. Through building the index system, the paper made aperformance appraisal about the third party cold chain logistics serviceprovider with analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and selected a suitable thirdparty cold chain logistics service provider.Through the analysis on the food safety and the logistics modes of foodenterprises, the research provided the theoretical basis and the specificmeasures about how food enterprises choose the suitable the logistics modesand the third party cold chain logistics service provider.
