Research On Impact Of The Structural Dimension Of Social Capital On The Performance Of Industry-University-Research Cooperation

Industry-University-Research Cooperation (IURC) is not only an important alliance formfor technological innovation of enterprises and academic institutes, but also an important partof the national innovation system. It promotes technological innovation strength and shortensthe time of innovation materialization process as well.Innovation activities of IURC can notbe separated from organization members who have a good social network. This relationbetween them highlights the role of social capital. The structural dimension of social capitalexamines the structural characteristics of the social relationship network. Hence, it issignificant to analysis the performance of IURC from the perspective of the structuraldimension of social capital.Firstly, this paper introduces structural dimension of social capital and redefines it interms of the characteristics of IURC, and then defines structure dimensions of social capital ofIURC according to the characteristics of t IURC. The paper elaborates the definition andcharacteristics of IURC network tie strength, network centrality, structural holes, networkdensity and network stability. Secondly, the author puts forward theoretical assumptions andbuilds model framework between structural dimension of social capital, IURC knowledgediffusion and IURC performance. Thirdly，this paper makes questionnaires on the basis of theinfluence that social capital has had on the performance of IURC. After collecting sample data,SEM is used to test the assumptions. Finally, based on the theoretical and empirical analysis,suggestions and strategies are put forward to improve the performance of IURC.
