Hengzhong company is a state-owned enterprises with a history of nearly60years. It mainly engaged in the research, manufacture, and sale of heavy machineries. This article is based on present production and management situation, analysis of market competition and response strategies. Then HengZhong Company revealed the need for the application of Lean Production.In this article, with the basic theories of Lean Production, considering the risk controlling factors in the reform of the company, combining the characters of the company, the author finally decide to choose the No.2Machining Department of HengZhong Company as the first place to carry on the study of the Lean Production, and select the most representative project to study, after that the experience can be used in the other branches of the group. During the period, against several core work, combining the analysis of the universal, typical, and specific projects which are regarded as the demonstration areas and is beneficial to the application of the Lean Production.The measures are like these:by using visual management and red card operations on the Processing sections’5S improvement.Using the value stream of the Lean Production and combining the IE program analysis, ameliorate the processing flow of gear cutting.Under the principle of a flow, combining the theory of the TOC, equalization to improve the Substrate Outfit’s production.Through the selection of the best inventory model, Integrate the ABC management methods to improve the inventory management.Followed by the demonstration and comparative analysis, gain the improvement of5S Site management. Through calculate the Cycle improvement rate and standard working hours improvement rate of production, gain the actual effect of the Improvement in the Workflow of gear cutting and the balance of the the Substrate Outfit production line. Using the Inventory Turnover and the example analysis, gain the effect of improvement in inventory.Finally, drawing a conclusion that the project of the No.2 Machining Department of Hengzhong company achieves the goals and has improved the competitiveness of enterprises.This issue solve the problem Innovatively that improving the competitiveness of the long-cycle products of the heavy equipment companies by using the Lean Production, and enrich the number of case Study on this issue, and has reference value and reference to the similar enterprises which committed to applicate Lean Production.
