The Impacts Of Cultural And Creative Industries On Urban Economic Growth

With the acceleration of the globalization Process and the development of a knowledge-based economy, as an international industrial division of labor and value chain of the high-end, creative industries have mushroomed in the word, has now become an international metropolis of the new trends in industrial development. Creative industries integrate culture, technological and the creative ideas, which promote the development of related industry and thus become pillar industries that enhance competitiveness, and overall development of many countries or regions. However, how the creative industries affect the development of economic development of cities? How can we do to promote it? These are all difficult problems we face.By summarizes definition and characteristics of creative industries, the paper analyzes the transmission mechanism of cultural-creative industries for economic growth through establishing structural equation. It then uses the multi-dimensional perspective to advance a direct influence path and three indirect paths of cultural-creative industries impacts on economic growth, which are human capital situation, technological innovation ability and cultural values. At last, this paper uses PLS path analysis to verify the proposed conceptual model. The results show that cultural-creative industries contribute to economic growth, which mainly reflects in its indirect effects. It also reveals that cultural-creative industries play a potential role on economic growth. The paper deeply analysis the case of creative industries in Shanghai and demonstrates some useful principles. The innovation of the paper is mainly embodied in three aspects:First, new research methods, the Paper put creative industries and cities as a complex system and use the structural equation to analysis the paths of cultural-creative industries impact on economic growth.
