In recent years, genetically modified food has become popular issues concerned by the academia and the general public. On the one hand, people sure about the Genetically Modified Technology improve crop yields and quality, reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, solve the problems of food shortage, hunger and malnutrition in the developing world, and promote the industry development of medicine and chemical. On the other hand, because of no conclusion on the safety of genetically modified crops, people also worried about the gene sequence changes will give unprecedented threat to humans and ecosystems.However, for solving the global problems such as population expansion, food shortage and energy crisis, environmental pollution, resource scarcity, Genetically Modified Technology as the core of the modern biology technology is so important, has become one of the most active new high-tech industry, and develop with the highest speed. Genetically modified food entered people’s table gradually now. For the national policy makers, the state should grasp the opportunity to develop the technology of genetically modified food, at the same time, as far as possible to ensure the safety of the people and the stability of the ecosystem. Therefore, we need find the best suited policy strategy to make it suitable for the development of genetically modified food.The structure of this thesis as follows:Firstly, briefly introduces the concept and the development situation of genetically modified food. Then, makes contrastive analysis on other countries’ policies of genetically modified food, reveals the deep reasons for differences. Finally, analyses the policies and the mainstream view of genetically modified food in China, and learns advanced experience abroad, put forward Suggestions about policy orientation of genetically modified food in China.
