The Genetically Modified Food (GMF) has becoming an important part of our daily food, and it will play a more important role in our future food supply. The potential risks in producing and consuming GMF make it necessary to supervise the safety issues. Currently, China is one of the major countries of GMF producing and consuming, strengthening the supervision on GMF is an inseparable part of food safety supervision, and it is significantly helpful for reducing the risks of GMF. This paper reviews the major principle of GMF risk evaluation, the model of the supervision, the public policies related to the GMF, and also points out the weakness in China's GMF supervision system and suggestions for the future policy making. |
