The Analysis On The Knowledge-spillover Effect In Regional Economy

Along with the knowledge explosion, the knowledge-spillover effect has beenincreasingly attracted people’s attention. As is widely known, technology innovationand improvement act significant roles in the competitiveness of regional economy.Thetechnological innovation progress depends on the capability of reconstructing regionalindustrial cluster, and the digestion, assimilation and innovation of knowledge insideand outside the cluster.Knowledge-spillover, as a prime form of technologicalinnovation in industrial transformation and diffusion, is vital to the regional economicdevelopment. The knowledge-spillover effects were shown in the adjustment ofindustrial structure, the wealth accumulation and creation deriving from knowledgetransmission, and the optimization of industrial structure.This paper researched on the regional economy and the framework of industrialclusters empirically with data on the coastal economic belt in LiaoningProvince.Furthermore, an empirical model was built up in order to analysis theknowledge-spillover effect between industrial clusters and how it promote regionaleconomy and Liaoning Coastal economic belt industrial cluster.In the qualitative analysis, this paper explained regional economy and industrialclusters and explored the influential factors of knowledge-spillover.The quantitativeanalysis addressed the knowledge production function and relevant factors that affectsvariables basing on the data from Statistics Yearbook of Liaoning Province since from2009Furthermore, along with applying the quantitative model, it measuredknowledge-spillover effects and tested variables that affecting theknowledge-spillover effects.Basing on the theoretical research and empirical analysis, this paper concludedthat there was a negative relation between talent mobility or Research andDevelopment input per capita and knowledge-spillover effect, which is consistentwith economic development of coastal economic belt in Liaoning Province. Eventhough a positive relation between knowledge-spillover level and the absorptivecapacity of coastal economic belt cities in Liaoning Province, the knowledge-spillovercan hardly result in increasing absorptive capacity of coastal cities directly.Theindustrial cluster and the distances between major cities showed strong relationship with knowledge-spillover effect.Finally, the fixed assets investment in coastal citiespresented a positive relationship with knowledge-spillover effect.
