New urbanization is not only the historical mission of China’s modernization construction, but also the greatest potential for expanding domestic demand. Therefore, how to develop a new type of urbanization has become the object more concerned about, and also become the central work of all levels of government in our country. From the reform and opening up in1978, the level of urbanization of China continues rising, and now it is in the accelerated time. Following the world trend, Inner Mongolia should actively adjust measures to local conditions to follow a new path of urbanization.Although the urbanization development in Inner Mongolia has made great grades, we should see the insufficient in the back of the achievement. The various problems and contradictions of Inner Mongolia urbanization is closely connected with the imperfect driving force of urbanization. This article analyze the current situation of urbanization development in Inner Mongolia, and construct the new evaluation index system of urbanization in Inner Mongolia, and measure the new urbanization level of Inner Mongolia. From the perspective of driving force of new urbanization, we conclude that the new urbanization is close related with the development of primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry and has close relation with the reform innovation. Finally, we find the particularity and diversity of driving force, and put forward that Inner Mongolia should vigorously develop agriculture and animal husbandry, accelerate industrial construction, and give full play to the third industry pull function, continue to deepen reform of the system, speed up the new urbanization development in Inner Mongolia.
