The Research On The Structure Of Inner Mongolia Energy Consumption

Inner Mongolia is an important energy basement for our country, its economic growth rate has been much higher than the other provinces of China in the past decade since2003. During the rapid economic growth in the past ten years, with the conversion process of the energy advantages into economic growth advantages gradually, its structure of energy consumption has shown a certain degree of imbalance on it. Coal and other fossil energy so much dominated in Inner Mongolia structure of energy consumption that we have to face a growing climate pressures, this influenced the distribution and transformation for our industries seriously and can also bring many adverse effects on sustainable development for economy, society and environment of Inner Mongolia in the future. Therefore, in order to promote the sustainable development and improve the living standard for people living in this minority national area, it is very necessary for us to find out the optimized measures for adjustment about energy consumption structure by studying on our current situation of it.In this paper, on the basis of the theory about sustainable development, limits to growth and energy economics, with the energy consumption data in Inner Mongolia from2001to2012as the research object, it adopted equilibrium and dominance index to measure the developing trend of energy consumption structure during these twelve years and used the Principal component analysis (PCA) to summarize many factors which affected these kind of variation trend happened in energy consumption structure. After that, we can get the conclusion. During these twelve years, the information entropy, equilibrium and dominance index of Inner Mongolia have presented a periodical change, although there were some unsteady changes in the last three years (2010-2012), the overall evolution situation about the structure of the Inner Mongolia energy consumption was developing toward the direction which is much more balanced and rational. According to this kind of circumstance, we can summarize some factors affecting energy consumption structure, these include the distribution of industrial structure in economic development of Inner Mongolia, the energy production structure of Inner Mongolia. While the total productive capacity for energy consumption and energy production sum in Inner Mongolia also had a certain impact on the structure of regional energy consumption. Finally, considering the sustainable development, some advices about how to adjust the structure of energy consumption had been given in this article. It is reasonable to exchange the energy advantages for economic development advantages. In the long term, promoting the cleaner product of the coal consumption and trying to find out some other kinds of energy to instead of coal, exploiting much more renewable energy and transforming the structure of industries, improving the process of industries update and cooperation are really good choices to optimize energy consumption structure. If so, that will bring all the energy advantages in Inner Mongolia to support the development of Inner Mongolia economy and realize the goal to make our region strong and people wealthy ultimately.
