Research On Development Strategic Planning Of Xiamen Port

Xiamen port is one of the most important harbors in China. The Xiamen port has quite excellent natural condition. In recent years, along with the fast economy development in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, Jiangxi Province and other hinder-land, Xiamen port keep fast increase situation, the annual throughput of containers in Xiamen port locates the seventh in China. The development of Xiamen port is important to the construction of the west coast economic zone of Taiwan Straits and is meaningful in the cross-strait trade and economy. Recent years, Xiamen port faces the drastic competition from other harbors. The port appeared quite a lot of questions such as inharmonious development between the city and the harbor, the supporting from the hinder-land isn’t enough, the function of the harbor area is unclear etc.Combine with the experience from other harbors, by using SPSS statistic software and the quantitative method as well as the qualitative method, this paper makes an overall study on the development of Xiamen port. This article analyzed the present conditions of Xiamen port such as infrastructure facilities, port regions distribution, total throughput and container throughput, system reform and integration, port functions determining etc. This paper put forward suggestions such as free port policy, port regions integration, improving collection and distribution in cargo transportation, planning of port regions, technical innovation, management system reform and harmonious development of port and city etc. Through a serious of analyze, the article think that it is necessary for the port to extend its logistics hinterland s innovatively. It must through developing sea-rail combined transport, building dry ports, improving customs clearance, improving infrastructure construction and collecting&dispatching systems to achieve grand goal of stratagem development in Xiamen Port. To make sure the goal of stratagem development in Xiamen Port, it should accelerate the construction of the "South east international shipping central", improving the Strategic position of the harbor, expanding the hinder-land range, increase the supporting from the hinder-land economy to the development of the harbor.
