Industrial agglomeration is not only an inevitable phenomenon during the process of economic development, but also the inevitable trend of economic development. As resource elements keeping to focus on certain areas, industrial agglomeration greatly promote regional economic development. After the reform and opening up, China’s industrial layout continue to gather, widening the economic development gap between areas and imbalancing regional economic development. From the perspective of spatial economics and empirical analysis, it explores the status and trends of industrial agglomeration. Firstly, through space and spatial density Gini coefficient it calculated the degree of specialization industrial agglomeration, through the Herfindahl index, it calculated the degree of diversification of industrial agglomeration.Overall, our study shows that the degree of industry concentration and quality has improved, but there are differences and variations between provinces. Eastern coastal relatively has high degree of industrial diversification, the western industrial structure is relatively simple. On this basis, from the perspective of the industrial and manufacturing sectors,it studied the effects of industrial agglomeration, as well as macro-tax impact The results show that both the specialization or diversification agglomeration will benefit the level of regional economic development and people’s living standards.
