Bohai LD27-2/32-2oilfield is located in eastern Bohai area, the northwest of which is about104kilometers away from Qinhuangdao city of Hebei province. As it is far away from land, the platform needs to be equipped with independent power plant. In order to reduce the fuel cost, oil associated gas is employed to generate electricity. The main power station consists of two sets of MAN crude oil machine and three sets of CAT natural gas machine. The CAT engine detonation occurred frequently at the initial operation time, leading to engine shutdown, which seriously affects the stability of the system oil power plant, wasting almost at least1.8million a year gas flaring. To realize the stable operation of power plant, a set of heavy hydrocarbon removal facilities should be installed to reduce invalid evacuation of associated gas.Based on the research status of heavy hydrocarbon removal, an applied research is conducted combined with the status of LD32-2oil field. A comprehensive comparison of three kinds of technology for taking off the heavy hydrocarbons in natural gas is carried, including "cooling separation","ethylene glycol injection with cooling separation""molecular sieve dehydration with cooling separation". Taking the current natural gas treatment process into consideration, the cooling separation is selected. Without injection of chemical agents, natural gas is cooled to the temperature of2-3degree centigrade for the separation of liquid hydrocarbon and water. Furthermore, the treatment capacity and temperature of natural gas are calculated.On basis of gas processing effects and equipment domesticization, the main equipment for removing the heavy hydrocarbons is determined. Type of the separator and the heat exchanger is selected. Skid-mounted equipment of the refrigeration unit is designed for stable operation. The research is applied to the actual production of LD32-2oilfield. The operating results and economic benefits are assessed, accordingly.
