The Research On Construction Of Ecological Civilization In The Southern Region Of Jiangsu From The Ecological Modernization Theory

Since the reform and open up, southern region of Jiangsu province has rapidly developed. It reached remarkable achievements in economy, culture, education, science and technology, health care, basic facilities and many other area. It gradually becomes one of the country’s three major economic zones. However, in spite of the civilization, environmental problems still existed, which affects the smooth realization of the "the first two" goals of the region. Hence, as ecological modernization spreads all over the world, China has also started an upsurge of ecological civilization construction. Nowadays, the hot topic is how to use related theories to guide the sustainable and healthy development of southern region of Jiangsu.Based on the basic principles of Marxism, this article takes the southern region of Jiangsu province as an example to study region modernization and ecological civilization.and tells us that there are lots of similarity between two theories.The route and principles of ecological civilization can enlighten the southern region of Jiangsu province’s ecological civilization..whats more,this research find out theories that can support the development of ecological civilization in this region and enlarge the ranges in which ecological modernization theories are applied.In addition,through data analysis,we can know that southern region of Jiangsu has obvious advantages in the material basis, the science-education-culture-health career and the integrated construction. Then the study analyzes the feasibility of ecological civilization in the southern regions of Jiangsu and summarizes the following features: inevitability, complexity, and corporation. Then, learning from the core theories of ecological civilization, it can identify the reasons for these problems from industrial structure, institution, ecological sense and residents.Finally, this research will combine ecological civilization theories and actual situation of southern region of Jiangsu province,and find out that there are some useful suggestions and solutions from four perspectives for ecological civilization construction: promote southern region of Jiangsu province’s sustainable development by upgrading of industry, improve southern region of Jiangsu province’s ecological civilization system by changing institution, strengthen education of ecological culture in southern region of Jiangsu province by cultivating culture and increase citizens’ involvement in construction of ecological civilization by developing environmental protection NGO.
