As technology developed the speed of the combers go higher and higher. As well as the manufacturability of each comber is improved and caused a relative decrease in labor and energy costs. It is enormous economic benefits. However with increased speed of combers, lots of vibrations, shocks and noise come along which hindered the further enhance of the speed of comber. Therefor the research and development of the main transmission mechanism is necessary and meaningful for increase the speed of combers.There going to be a new mechanism design about the cylinder transmission and the one of detaching roller transmission in this thesis. After an analysis of the characteristics of the two former transmissions, there would be new mechanisms to be carried out that could keep the same law of motion of the former transmission. And the speed can be improved at the same time. For the cylinder transmission, the new mechanisms will be suitable to the space of the primary machine. And for the other transmission, the plan will contains a servo motor which is one source to drive the detaching roller. For bring the convenience that to adapt a comber to different kinds of cotton spinning.During the process of research, the Matlab optimization toolbox is used first to work out the best sizes for each linking of the mechanism. Then by using the Solidworks to build up the virtual prototype, which is going to be used to analysed and for verify whether the mechanism I designed is reliable or not.
