Substation dynamic reactive power compensation device can track the load reactivechanges, based on the reactive load changes continuously adjustable reactive power output, toimprove the load power factor, reactive power flow limitations, reduce reactive power flowloss, thereby enhancing the system transmission capability.Because the device lifetime limit,the capacitor group allowed frequent adjustment, and separate the switching capacitor groupwill present the ladder of regulation; and the dispatching automation system AVC function canimprove substation reactive power compensation capacity. Therefore, with the dispatchingautomatic system application, realize station end dynamic reactive power compensationdevice and the dispatching automation system AVC function of the joint regulation, canimprove the reactive power compensation is fast and the output power of smoothness.This paper takes the substation in dynamic reactive power compensation device as theresearch object, based on the substation reactive power compensation device configuration,describes the dynamic reactive power compensation in the form of and its application insubstation. Then reviews the currently used in the power system dispatching automationsystem AVC function of voltage and reactive power automatic control present situation. Thedynamic reactive power compensation device control present situation as a foundation,combining the dispatching automation system, puts forward the dispatching automationsystem AVC function and station end dynamic reactive power compensation device withadjusting control strategy. This strategy can eliminate using separate switching capacitorgroup for reactive power compensation occurs because of capacitive power regulation is notsmooth and caused the ladder of regulation, can achieve real-time reactive power balance onsite condition. Finally, the combined control strategy in Jiangmen Power Supply BureauTangxia substation in practical engineering application.
