With the continuous development of highway tunnels in China, meanwhile, the problemof road safety is becoming serious due to the situation of severe accidents happens frequently.It is necessary to monitor as well as evaluate the electromechanical system in the tunnelmanagement since it is a significant supporting in normal operation. Under this circumstance,establishing scientific method and system for evaluating the operating status of the tunnelelectromechanical system has a profound significance in deeply understanding the operatingstatus, preventing hidden faults and enhancing the operating level of tunnels.The main objective of this research is evaluating the operating status of the tunnelelectromechanical system. The proposed method analysis the reason in three aspects: thetechnical situation of the device, the operation environment and the maintenance managementof the system. An indicator system for evaluating the system is established based on thesensitivity analysis of the initial indicator from above. The type, measuring method andprinciple for evaluating single indicator is given in details by referencing the existing standardof the maintenance and operation of technical specifications of the highway tunnel. Thecontent for evaluation and principle for classification the single indicator is given as well.In addition, the requirement of the evaluation is discussed by considering thecharacteristics such as real-time and dynamic of operating status of the system. Firstly, thereal-time operating status classification for instance excellent, good, medium, low, poor isacquired. Secondly, the development of the operating status in different period is obtained. Inthis research, the conclusion of the main question for evaluation is listed. Then the two-stepevaluating method contains classification and dynamic timing evaluating comprehensivelyphases is used for building the assessment model for comprehensive evaluation.Finally, the indicator system and assessment model is used in testing the tunnel ofBAYUAN. As a result, the established indicator system is reasonable and feasible while theacquisition of single value is feasible and practical. In conclusion, the proposed evaluation method by classification and ordering contribute to a high result for classifying the operatingstatus of the tunnel electromechanical system and analyzing the trend of operation.
