Study On The Capacity Of Highway Passenger Transport Of Inter-city Routes In Province Area Based On Gravity Model

The allocation of transport routes resources is the basis for the government managementdepartment to supervise and control the route transportation market’s adjustment, supervisionand policy making. Current highway passenger transport management system lacksscientific,effective and reasonable basis among the evaluation of transport routes, the launchof new transport routes and the adjustment of transport routes trends, which hinder thedevelopment of highway passenger transport and affect the effective allocation of transportresources and the maximization of economic and social benefits. Thus, the paper developsexploratory research based on the capacity of highway passenger transport routes.The allocation of transport routes based on transport demands is the mainstreammethod at present. However, demand characteristics are volatile, unbalanced and convective,leading to obvious disadvantages exist in the study of transport routes. The paper introducesthe gravity model as the core model, constructing the capacity model of highway passengertransport routes, based on actual circumstances of the passenger transportation markets andinternal relation between supply and demand.Based on the investigation of passenger market in Shaanxi province, the paper usesthe K-average cluster analysis to get routes classification, city to city route, xi’an to countyroute, city to county route etc. It also offers selecting standards to the sample and obtains thecalibration model of the sample, getting all kinds of generative rules of route capacity.Practical application of capacity model obtains reasonable range (7/8Wx,7/6Ws) of capacityand gets maximum reasonable limit(4/3Wmax) and minimum reasonable limit(3/4Wmin). The paperprovides criterion for route capacity analysis, evaluates the inter-city route capacity ofShaanxi province, which provide scientific and rational basis for subsequent optimization.
