MIL-STD-1553B bus standard is an airline bus standard proposed by the U.S. military, which has been widely used in the military and industrial areas. Currently the processing cards and deal chip which meet the standard1553B bus protocol mostly monopolized by foreign units. So developing a self-1553B board has a high value for the development and testing of the device in our country.On the basis of MIL-STD-1553B bus protocol and GJB289A-1997standards, This paper focus on analyzing the1553B system hardware connections, topology, and data formats, word format and message formats. According to the agreement, this paper makes design objectives the subject and develops the overall design.According to the goals and implementation of the design, this paper highlights the design and implementation of1553B bus interface board based on Xilinx FPGA devices. Two different solutions are provided for the bus controller mode and remote terminals mode, and the process of design and implementation are introduced in detail, which is divided into two aspects of hardware and software. The hardware includes CPCI bus circuit,1553B bus circuit and FPGA circuits and completing debugging hardware circuit to achieve the Universal1553B board hardware platform which supports bus controller and remote terminals. The software includes internal logic design of FPGA and application design. And the program of FPGA based on the idea of module which are achieved by hardware description language of Verilog HDL. And then finish the simulation of main modules.Finally, the software program is ported to the hardware platform. And achieving the board control and data transmission by applications, then docking with the board of the standard protocol and completing board electrical performance testing and protocol testing, giving the experimental results. The experimental results validate that the design can transport a variety of1553B message and the board developed by this thesis suffices the design requirements.
