The skill of solar simulation uses the artificial light to simulate sunlight irradiationcharacteristics. Among them, the steady-state solar simulator has a broad, such as solarthermal power, the resistant of materials radiation aging, metal smelting and militaryproduct testing. With the development of new energy industries, the requiring of solarsimulation platform has gradually increased, so we need further research, reaching fromoff-axis to coaxial on optical structure, changing from the system light source evolution bythe dozens of low-power to a few small high-power xenon lamps, so we accumulate a lotof practical experience on development and technology, laying a solid foundation for thesubsequent development for the development of new solar simulator.The solar simulator includes optical system, cooling system, mechanic system andcontrol system. On optical system, according to the sunlight spectrum characteristics, wechoose short arc xenon light as a light origin, using TracePro optical analysis software tosimulate xenon lights road maps, designing the condenser curve and poly mask,according to the total light emission power and irradiance requirements, we draw thespace lamp array scheme. On cooling system, according to the short arc light property, weuse the cooling method, using the heat exchange principle to select fans, laying a solidbasis on the principles scheme of cooling system. On mechanical system, according to thecollimation principle of the light source, we design the XYZ axis mechanism for adjustinglights, establishing a solid foundation on the principles scheme of mechanical system. Oncontrol system, according to the controlling sites need of solar simulator, we design thecontrol system scheme and detect the location and number.By the above method for the design of the key technical part of solar simulator, wecomplete to set up the experimental platform. From the functional aspect, we focus on thelight source by the mask form a stable poly satisfied spot, and the spot region has a highertemperature, a certain heat, we can adjust the light spot and power and the zonetemperature; from the application field, the platform can test the new ultra-hightemperature resistant materials and the solar selective absorbing coating material,providing a mean for the field of solar thermal power generation experimental research.
