Study On The Sustainable Coordination Relationship Between Water Resources Utilization And Economic Development In Shanxi Province

Water resources is a kind of fundamental and strategic natural resources and has significant effect to the economic development of a region, especially to arid and semi arid area, water resources has become the bottleneck that constrains economic development. Shanxi Province is located in central China and lack of water resources. The strategic goal to construct national energy base exacerbates the crisis of water resources and environment fatherly. This paper takes Shanxi Province as the study area and uses theoretical research and empirical research, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis and comparative analysis method. Firstly, the present situation of water utilization and economic development was analyzed, problems such as the shortage of water resources total amount, the serious pollution of water environment and the low efficiency of water utilization was founded. Secondly, time series coordination degree of Shanxi Province from the year2004to2012is calculated, the degree in2004is0.0960and in2012is0.8597, trend of the overall improvement can be observed, but the water utilization situation is still behind economic development. Thirdly, spatial series coordination degree of31provinces of China in the year2012is calculated, the degree of Shanxi Province is0.107, at the26th place, behind most provinces. Fourthly structural analysis of water utilization and economic development is carried out, problems and shortcomings are summarized further. Lastly, countermeasures and recommendations are put forward aimed at the key problems in water utilization and economic development.
