In recent years, with the improvement of the residents’living standard, the quantity of private cars had been increasing continuously, the trip proportion of the car was maintained at a high level, the transportation construction was constantly changing and the energy consumption of the urban passenger transportation was increasing year by year. In order to optimize the structure of the urban passenger transportation and reduce the energy consumption, it is important to study the relationship between transportation structure and its energy consumption. By using the method of factors influence analysis, this paper studies several contents of the relationship between transportation structure and the energy consumption..Firstly, this paper analyzed that the main influence factors of the urban passenger transportation energy consumption are the passenger turnover quantity, the unit energy consumption of different traffic modes and the transportation structure. It also built the calculation formula on the energy consumption of urban passenger transportation. By contrasting four energy analysis methods (regression analysis, Laspeyres complete decomposition, LMDI decomposition and factor influence analysis), this paper selected the factors influence analysis to analyze the relationship between the transportation structure and the energy consumption based on the calculation formula on the energy consumption, it also built the calculation formula to calculate the influence value of energy consumption caused by the transportation structure.Secondly, this paper built the scenario design thesis of the urban passenger transportation structure. Taking a city for example, assumed the trip characteristics keeps invariant, this paper built the basic scenario of the urban passenger structure in2020by analyzing the current situation and the development trend of each traffic mode. Then based on the basic scenario, this paper built the energy-saving scenario by using the index of unit energy consumption to adjust the growth speed of the passenger turnover quantity.Furthermore, based on the change of the transportation structure in different scenario, this paper found that when adjust the growth speed of the passenger turnover quantity by using the index of unit energy consumption, the changes in the trip proportion of URT and the car are the biggest. This paper also found that decreasing the unit energy consumption of the cars can increase their growth speed of the passenger turnover quantity, but the growth speed of the bus grow significantly.Finally, based on the calculation formula of the influence value, this paper calculated the change of the energy consumption level caused by the change of passenger transportation structure in different scenario. Based on the calculation results, this paper concluded that:optimizing the transportation structure, decreasing the trip proportion of the car and developing the URT in preference can reduce the energy consumption of the passenger transportation system remarkably. It also found that with the decrease of the unit energy consumption of the bus, car and taxi, the energy differences between different traffic modes reduce gradually, the energy influence value caused by the passenger transportation structure also will be reduced. Then it also gave a few recommendations for the energy-saving development of the urban passenger transportation structure.
