Research Of Basin Management About Water Resource Protection Of The Yellow River

China suffers from severe water problems, regarding flooding disaster, watershortage, pollution and soil erosion, i.e. key issues of ‘excess, shortage, pollution andmuddy water’. Within these issues, in particular, pollution is a relatively newproblem which requires more attention and dedication to resolve in terms of itsnatural and social nature. In turn, protection of water resources arises directly fromthe issue of polluted water and largely becomes a rising concern.Therefore, water protection and conservation constitutes a significant part of thepollution control scheme of the Yellow River watershed. This paper firstly introducesthe fundamental information of the Yellow River, the institutional alternation ofcontrol system, and important achievements in sixty years. Furthermore, the presentsituation of water conservation in the watershed of Yellow River and the existingproblems will be critically analysed. Associated development plan and strategyrecommendation of water conservation of Yellow River will also be carried out,according to the government statutes and regulations of building water-ecologicalcivilisation held by both the18th National People’s Congress and the3rd Session ofthe18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Consequently, it iskey to carefully plan for water resource and ecology protection, to promote effectivemechanism of water protection, to gradually formulate the water ecology system inYellow River and achieve efficient and effective water resource management of theYellow River watershed.
