The Research Of The Construction Of Slow Traffic System In River System Regions

Cities in the river system region of southern Jiangsu province, built and thrivedbecause of water, have developed unique ecological environment and transportationsystem in harmony with nature. But nowadays with repaid development of cities, lots ofcities there are facing crisis of confliction between vehicles and non-motorized vehicles,characteristics of cities around rivers and lakes missing. Step by step, people realize thatthe effective way to solve transportation problems is recovering the life of slowtransportation. With the growing pressure of transportation system, it has definitely greatimportance to inherit the characteristic of transportation system of the cities in river region.Based on the study of slow transportation system in the cities of rivers and lakes insouthern Jiangsu province and analysis of its nature ecological environment, transportationspace mechanism and transportation space characteristics, the article summarizes the mainfeatures and issues of slow transportation system in this region, which is divided intodowntown and suburb according to the people’s demands of slow commuting and featuresof transportation. The space structure of the slow transportation system is analysis, thedowntown slow transportation network structure based on factors of “Core, Gallery,District” and the suburbs slow transportation network structure based on factors of “Point,Line” are put forward as well in this article. By forecast of people’s demands of slowcommuting, the downtown slow transportation system is classified into three grades:high–demanded slow lane, non-high–demanded slow lane and part-of-area slow lane, aswell as the suburb slow transportation system is classified into three grades: main road,secondary road and connecting road according to its features and people’s commutingdemands. Downtown slow transportation service station and suburb slow transportationstation are presented based on the research of demands grade and type of slowtransportation service facilities in accordance with different commuting purpose of people.Furthermore, space layout, construction mode and facility layout of service facilities areanalyzed in details. In the end, Wujiang as a typical city of rivers and lakes region, its slowtransportation system is built, construction plan and assurance strategy are developed.
