Analysis Of Waterfront Space Form Of The Baihe River In Nanyang By The Guidance Of Fractal Theory

ABSTRACT: Thanks to the development of industrialization, the dam-basedengineering is the main method of the early river management and construction. Thewaterfront spatial is neat and uniform, which is reducing the original morphologicalcharacteristics of the river. With the maintenance and management, there is morelonger between human and nature. It brings in a series of problems, such as theurban rainwater. Under the fractal Theory, this paper investigate the morphology ofthe waterfront space with the traditional water management and low-impactdevelopment techniques. Using fractal geometry and fractal dimension calculation ofwaterfront space, there is a new design idea to be provided for enhance the image ofthe city.(1)This paper contrast ideology of Traditional garden and Fractal geometry, tofind the starting point of fractal theory in the waterfront space design. It discusses theself-similarity and the child is father of the man, the change of dimension andcurvaceous, fractal growth and a pool of three mountains, and calculates the differentfractal dimension interval water form.(2)In guiding the low impact development and ecological design, it get differentbulkhead form through calculation. The baihe of nanyang is the example of this paper. it analysis this river in thecity and provide the method to enhance the image of the city.
