With the rapid development of social and economic,as well as the unevendistribution of resources, China Railway embarked on a high-speed,heavy-duty”pathof development,the corresponding of railway safety is increasing attention. Due tothe rapid development of information technology,especially the great developmentof computer technology, modern communications technology and internettechnology,the work of collecting the locomotive running data,remote datatransmission,information analysis,fault diagnosis becomes more convenient andefficient.The HXD1B locomotive use the SIBAS32control system, when thelocomotive is moving, it records the operation status information of CCU,TCU andother units. These data is about the main transformer,variable flow device,the maincircuit breaker,pantograph,batteries,brake control unit,speed sensor,temperaturesensor,an important contactors,protection devices,etc.With the analysis andprocessing of these information, it can get the performance,status and trends of eachunit,and then can use as the important basis for making locomotive maintenanceprogram. When the locomotive come back,the segments use the traditional methodwhich use a USB disk to download the data from the train,then use the SIBASExpert2software to analysis the data file by file.But this method has shortcomingthat it’ll waste time and money for there’s many cars. So there’s a need to have adevelopment of locomotive which can get the data automatically and analysisintelligently. This system can make a analysis and classification for the runninginformation, after doing this, the locomotive can make automatic fault diagnosis, italso can make a scientific maintenance program,so the locomotive which has faultcan’t go out. It can fully and accurately grasp the overall quality of the all thelocomotives,it’s good for the leadership to make decisions. In order to get therunning data automatically,it needs to develop a vehicle-mounted wirelesstransmission device.After having a analysis of the demand for HXD1B locomotive,short-rangewireless transmission has been selected as point to point wireless bridge networking mode, and the WinCE system has been selected. Based on these,the overall design ofvehicle data transfer device has been proposed. In this design,the main modulesinclude the ARM host device,a wireless bridge,the control panel. The main work isto design the whole hardware circuit of the device,the relay group is used for retainmanual download circuit implementation,and the power module is used forsupplying different voltages for different components.After design the hardware circuit design, the paper give the software design ofthe vehicle device. The software is mainly used for download the running data ofHXD1B locomotive, these data is stored in the SIBAS32system,include the maintransformer,main circuit breaker,variable flow control devices,batteries,speedsensors,air conditioning and other operational information to download,store andtransmit. The specific work process is as follows,first,use the SCM to control theelectric relays, so we can get the recorded data from the SIBAS system. After havingstored the data in the U disk,then write applications to achieve the data dump U diskinto the SD card,finally, Embedded system sends the dynamic information of thelocomotive to the Ethernet module,then to the wireless bridge,the wireless bridgesend it to the remote server and stored it into the database.
