A Study On The Construction And Operation Of Tianjin’s CNG Filling Station Project

Nowadays the world is facing with two main problems, energy shortage and environmentpollution. Human being’s basic life is directly affected by the energy shortage whileenvironmental pollution is a direct hazard to human health. At present, many countries areencountered the problem of energy shortage, thus the national energy strategy is mainly focusedon the implementation of oil replacement. As one important resource to replace oil, natural gas isnot only widely used in household and industry, but also known as a clean, safe and efficient fuelfor vehicles. At the same time, car emissions have become an important source of city pollutionwith the increasing number of vehicles. The improving application of gas vehicles has become amature method for car emissions reduction in many countries. Since gas vehicles cannot bedeveloped without filling station, this paper focuses on the CNG filling station construction andoperation. The following contents are mainly covered by the study:Firstly, development of CNG filling station at home and abroad is studied. This part’sanalysis leads to a comprehensive understanding of CNG filling station project. And a basicjudgment would also been formed, which is on CNG filling station’s position in the developmentof gas vehicles.Secondly, the construction of Tianjin’s CNG filling station project is studied. This part doesnot focus on civil engineering, process flow and equipment selection which have been fullydeveloped in CNG filling station construction. Detailed analysis and in-depth study would becarried out with a close focus on two factors which have restricted Tianjin’s CNG filling stationconstruction, gas source and site location. Through the analysis, solution for the gas source andsite location has been provided, breakthrough point of project construction has been pointed out,and ideas of large scale construction have also been analyzed.Thirdly,, the operations management of Tianjin’s CNG filling station project is studied.Through the analysis of operations management of Tianjin’s CNG filling station project, a newdesign of project management mode is proposed and specific countermeasures have been putforward for safety management of CNG filling station.Finally, economical benefits of CNG filling station project is evaluated. Tianjin’s CNGfilling station project is assessed and its economy feasibility is analyzed with financial ratios,including ROI, payback period, NPV, IRR etc.
