With the development of scientific and technological progress, in our lives demandsfor information technology increase quickly, and trends of global information enhancefurther. It clears that the primary task of this phase is to promote the development ofinformation technology of the building industry in China’s "12th Five-Year Plan". BIM(Building Information Modeling) as the synonym of information technology of the buildingindustry in our country has been greatly popularized.Mostly it bases on aesthetic perspective and spatial cognition in traditional urbandesign process, which contains more sentimental designs. The BIM into urban design notonly enhances technical means, but also updates design thinking and methods, changing torational design. The paper, based on spatial form theoretical research, introduces advancedconcepts and methods of BIM, BIM-based concept and characteristics of the study from theinformation model as the core of the program design, for the full life cycle of programevaluation, green and fine combination of optimization, multi-information collaborativemanagement of four stages of implementation of the program to be elaborated, trying toestablish a BIM-based design pattern of green urban space morphology to make traditionalurban design process more rational and scientific, expecting to achieve sustainable greenurban space morphology. In the paper, it will be divided into three parts to research. Thefirst part is an introduction and theoretical overview; the second part is the main part, including theory and practice exploration of BIM corresponding to two issues referredbefore. The third part is the application of part of the thesis from, combined with thespecific practice case of the urban design in the Nanhe City to further elaborate BIM-basedgreen urban design applications.
