With the rapid development of automobile industry in China, the same parts need tomeet the various models which puts forward higher requirements for the automobile diescompanies: simpler operation, lower cost but higher efficiency with no loss of die life.Toincrease production capacity and comprehensive competitive strength, the automobile diescompanies must advance the die technique by digital simulation, design and assemblyhence to reduce the fitter’s work and shorten the injection cycle.Based on the working process, this paper analyzes the drawing forming technique (instructure process, pressing direction, addendum surface, binder surface, reinforcing rib,precise incision and so on) and drawing die design (in mould structure types, punch design,die design, binder ring design and so on) of the body side, inner panel FR RH to show theapplication of CAD/CAE/CAM technology. On this basis, this paper makes a probinganalysis of flanging plastic mold to meet two different requirements of the same die parts.The research shows that CAD/CAE technology plays an important role in the drawingforming technique and drawing die design of the body side, inner panel FR RH in which itcan optimize the pressing forming, shift the die trial and processing in earlier date,effectively overcome the ensuing problems, greatly shorten the molding cycle and increasethe productivity. The successful design of flanging plastic mold realizes the real-timeswitch of with/without window at the stamping production site via pneumatic quick-changemechanism and hand-control directional valve with least scrap.This digital forming technique also has reference significance to rear door outer platewith/without windows, body side inner/outer panel and roof outer panel with/withoutskylight windows.
