Reservoir is an indispensable part of the human existence and development. One important subject in study for reservoir health is related to human life and property safety, socio-economic development. Conducive to achieving sustainable operation of reservoir engineering, long play project benefits.By analyzing the characteristics and operation of plain reservoir, we proposed the concept of health plain reservoirs, health factors, health assessment system and health evaluation method. Provide technical support for the sustainable operation of plain reservoirs. The main research contents include:It analyzes the research plain reservoir construction, operation, management status, proposed a new definition of healthy plain reservoirs and explains the meaning of plain reservoirs healthy. On the basis of the new definition of healthy plain reservoirs on the proposed factors that affect the health of plain reservoirs.Based on plain reservoirs health factors, health assessment index system was constructed of plain reservoir, into the target layer, criterion layer 1, layer 2 criteria, index layer four levels. Evaluation system includes 24 indicators which two qualitative indicators, 22 quantitative indicators. The indicators were characterized quantify, combining health evaluation plain reservoir characteristics, reference AHP, scoring the advice of experts, to determine the health evaluation plain reservoir layers weights index; the consultant, referring to the relevant literature and norms, reference to experts on the basis of a separate index for each class to determine scores.Focus on the health grading plain reservoir, the reservoir will be plain health assessment grading of health, sub-health, mild disease, severe disease, crisis situation five levels.
