Modern tram as a new kind of low and medium traffic volume of rail transit system which is Reliable, comfortable energy-saving and environmental, Has become increasingly prominent position in urban public transport system。With the development of China’s urbanization construction, Modern tram get Included in many of the satellite city construction planning.Modern tram has developed rapidly Overseas, Many cities have already early achieved the network operation of Modern tram,But modern tram system is still in the early planning and construction in china, most still stay in the adaptive research. Research for the Conditions of demand and Construction is less or not deep enough. The traditional methods can not accurately do Passenger Flow Forecasting and make the judgments whether match the conditions or not.Under the background of urban rail transit, This paper give a joint method of passenger flow attraction scope and multinomial logit model to make demand forecast for the function orientation and passenger flow characteristics of Modern tram in satellite city.Frist determining the modern streetcar line attract scope get, then doing O-D survey and calculate to get O-D Matrix in predicting; Second Taking travel time and travel cost as characteristic variable, Build the MNL model to get Travel choice probability of Modern tram; Finally get passenger flow forecast of the Modern tram. The through a study which take Modern tram "passenger demand" as the core. Based on the prediction, Studying on relations of all parts of modern trams benefit and its function mechanism, then make integration of representative benefit indexes of modern trams, establish relevant indicators of quantitative method and combined with actual example.
