As the rapid growth of the density of urban construction, the development scale of underground space is becoming greater than ever. Meanwhile, the development of urban underground public land which contains road, square and public landscape is also in progress. However, the particularity of public land in terms of public ownership and public welfare function has lead to several unexpected issues considering the exploitation of actual underground construction cases.Therefore, this article illustrates from the background of the development of domestic public underground space. It analyses the existing related practices in Beijing through the reference of actual cases from China and abroad. Besides, policies, regulations, the mode of investment and financing, and management are also within consideration.In addition, it studies the planning practice of Beijing CBD core area underground public space. In the end, this thesis will conclude the develop strategies and evaluate them based on the comprehensive benefits they could achieve. The concept of developing the underground "public land" will be firstly proposed from this study. The purpose of this article is to study the existing CBD core public area to find out strategies for future development of underground public space. |
