The construction industry is a labor-intensive industry, construction time is relatively concentrated, the mutual interference of large, many kinds of field work, which resulted in the course of construction safety accidents often happen. With the development of economy, although the rapid growth of Chinese construction industry, but also frequent safety accidents in building construction has attracted national attention. At present, compared to the perception of China’s constructional project safety risks and foreign countries there are many gaps, so the need for the comparison of domestic and foreign constructional project safety risk perception, improve China’s constructional project safety risk perception level, reduce accidents. In order to improve China’s constructional project safety risk perception level, this paper made a comparative study on the perception of constructional project safety risks in China and Australia by questionnaire. In the comparative study of the results from the questionnaire results, Chinese construction industry practitioners compared to the Australian construction industry practitioners, have low education level, the problem of poor safety knowledge and skills. Although the security risk factors are present in two countries in the construction industry, but Australia is more concerned about the safety and environmental aspects of the risk, and the risk factors for high risk. In comparison, China construction staff that the safety risk factors of laws and regulations, education and training and technical aspects of the more important. Chinese construction workers pay more attention to safety education and supervision, while Australia pay more attention to environmental pollution and unforeseen site conditions. The Australian construction industry green card access policy by the Chinese government can draw, put forward a set of similar construction industry safety access policy. On the other hand, the study also found that environmental problems in China have not received adequate attention. In fact, China’s construction industry has boomed with China’s rapid economic development, this process leads to serious environmental pollution. In the comparative study of the causes of the difference: China is not the lack of theoretical research in the construction of building safety culture, but the lack of specific practice; two different legal systems, efforts to Australia than China’s punishment high; compared to Australia, although China’s relevant regulations on production safety of construction enterprises set up the construction safety management institution made specific provisions, but these Provisions mainly emphasized the leading position of the contractor safety management institutions, did not make provision for the safety production committee set up, production safety management is lack of staff participation, lack of communication and supervision necessary; because of the difference of the two legal systems and cultural background, in the construction safety management responsibilities, rights and other aspects have many differences.
