Cutter Suction Dredger has been widely employed in Harbour Engineering, Channel dredging and the related fields of extreme working conditions and high working intensity. Cutter mechanism is the most important features of Cutter Suction Dredger whose transmission and control are based on Hydraulic technology. Therefore, the Hydraulic condition of the system has a direct influence on the working performance of Cutter Suction Dredger. The research is based on an enterprise project for the developing of Cutter Suction Dredger, aiming to develop a advantaged Hydraulic system for Cutter Suction Dredger meeting the related performance index and technical requirements. The designed Hydraulic system is simulated by AMESim, in which the dynamic property and response is analyzed under a normal operating condition.This thesis includes three aspects as below.(1) Design of Cutter Hydraulic system. With the analysis of the fundamental compositions and working principle, as well as the considerations of the related functional requirements and performance index of the cutter and Hydraulic system, the transmission programme of the Hydraulic system was determined. Furtherly, the system diagram would be designed. The properties of the components were also determined through calculation basing on the the essential technique indexes.(2) Simulation analysis of Cutter Hydraulic system. The rotary cutter Hydraulic system and cutter supporting Hydraulic Lift system were modeled through simulation using AMESim software. Those unavailable Hydraulic components were established by the minimum mode unit in HCD library. The configuration is set to simulation components basing on the calculated parameters of the Hydraulic components. The operating conditions in the simulation were determined from practical conditions of cutter operation. Basing on the operation simulation, the operation results of loading variation on the rotary cutter Hydraulic system and Pressure-Flow characteristics of the Hydraulic lift were analyzed.(3) Modification of Cutter Hydraulic system. With meeting the performance index and technical requirements of the Cutter Hydraulic system, the system would be modified in order to develop a Hydraulic Close System. The performance of the Cutter Hydraulic system were furtherly compared between the Hydraulic close and open System through the related simulation results.The simulation of this research have tested the performance of hydraulic system in advance, and provides useful guidance value to the scheme determination of the rotary cutter Hydraulic system and the choose between the Hydraulic close and open System Suction Dredger.
