At present, construction of distribution network automation is still in the stage of relative basis in our country, for the distribution network fault location and isolation and the reliability of power supply measures and the consultation, there are many shortcomings. In the 21 st Century, with the continuous development of our economy and society, the reliability of power supply and the user’s security is also requesting higher requirements and increasing importance has been attached to feeder automation system in distribution field. So when the distribution network failure occurs, what kind of algorithm and scheme is proposed can quickly isolate them, and make them as soon as possible to restore the fault area of the power supply, which can accurately locate fault zone. It is the research emphasis of this paper and the work direction.The current distribution network fault location and isolation is often based on the feeder itself as the research object, using the traditional positioning matrix computation. The algorithm speed is slow and can not solve the problem of addressing feeder fault location.In order to solve these shortcomings, make it faster and more accurate in positioning and isolating fault area, this paper presents a fault location based on wireless technology popular nowadays, so as to locate faults and achieve precise positioning of the fault; For fault isolation, if only based on recloser and sectionalizer, this will cause the switch multiple sub-closed, which subjects the device to multiple short-circuit current shock and affects service life. If cooperate remote centralized monitoring system, recloser and sectionalizer with each other, this will isolate the fault quickly and effectively.Through the analysis of the working principle of the heuristic algorithm and genetic algorithm, clarified the advantages and disadvantages of heuristic algorithm in network reconfiguration and the advantages of genetic algorithm in multi-objective distribution network fault restoration, and genetic algorithm in dealing with multi-objective distribution network fault recovery refactoring advantage, accordingly puts forward is given priority to genetic algorithm, heuristic algorithm and auxiliary network reconfiguration of ideas, and through the analysis of simulation results come to the conclusion that this design scheme is feasible.
