With the continuous consumption of fossil energy and environmental pressures, there is an urgent need to find new sources of energy to fill the lack of fossil energy. Solar has become recognized new energy as an ideal green alternative energy. Solar photovoltaic power generation has the bright development prospects as an important way for solar energy utilization. Automatic sun tracking system effectively improved the utilization of solar energy, which used in the photovoltaic power generation. Therefore, this study is very important to improving the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation, promoting the popularization of application of photovoltaic power generation.Firstly, this paper analyzed the overall program of hybrid tracking system and the main part detailed, designed the photovoltaic power generation system with the control core of programmable controller (PLC), the system took the different track mode based on the sunny, cloudy and rainy weather conditions. Secondly, the article analyzed the present several sun-tracking methods, combined with the principle of solar panels generate electricity, after the experimental comparison proposed a hybrid tracking method combining the date trajectory tracking methods and sensor tracking mode, which can improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency effectively. Thirdly, after the detailed analysis of the structure and function of the system, this article designed the various parts of the circuit, realized the overall combination and completed the system circuit design, achieved real-time monitoring of the host computer system with the communication interface between the PLC and PC. Fourthly, the paper completed software design of the entire system in the PLC dedicated development environment STEP7-Micro/WIN32programming software, realized the function of each module, and achieved the position machine control and real-time display by the MCGS configuration software system.The paper measured the output open circuit voltage, the instantaneous voltage, current and output power of the mixed tracking, the date trajectory tracking and stationary solar panels through the experiments, in the same time comparatively analyzed the received radiation of the solar panels in different system and proved mixed tracking system has the higher photoelectric conversion rate, and guaranteed the stable electrical energy output supply and the normal work of the electricity load.
