The Research On The British Neighbourhood Governance Theory And Practice And The Inspiration On The Chinese Residential District Regeneration Model

Along with the requirements of promoting national governance system andcapacity from the Third Plenary Session of the18thCommunist Party, the urban andrural plan is also been redeemed as an important part of national governance system.Based on the background mentioned above, this dissertation conducts a comprehensiveresearch on the theory and practice of the British Neighbourhood Governance, tries toexplore the inspiration for the Chinese residential district regeneration and finally sumsup the relevant implementation strategies.Firstly, the second chapter examines the overview of Chinese residential districtregeneration which includes the elements, the targets, the models and the currentbarriers. Based on this, the comprehensive research on the British NeighbourhoodGovernance theory is carried out in the third chapter which identifies the concept andconnotation, the evolution process, the political background, the achievements andbarriers, followed by the summary of the features and warnings of the BritishNeighbourhood Governance. Furthermore, in chapter four, it introduces the ideal modelof Neighbourhood Governance and the relative four rationales. On the basis of thistheoretical model, the dissertation conducts the case study of the City of Westminsterneighbourhood governance and gives the relevant inspirations. Then, in order toillustrate the significance of British Neighbourhood Governance for the Chineseresidential districts regeneration, this dissertation gives an innovative research on thenational governance system and capacity modernisation agenda, and develops thecomparative study on the essential factors between the two countries. Finally, thechapter six states the overall operation strategies for the Chinese residential districtregeneration in new era on the basis of the theoretical ideal model of NeighbourhoodGovernance.
