Increasingly serious environmental and energy problem produce an intense contradiction with the development of social economy. Reducp the use of non-renewable energy and greenhouse gas emissions are effective measures to relieve such severe problems. To automotive industry, the main goal is to reduqe emissions and improve energy utilization. The development of new energy vehicles is imminent. The pure electric vehicle with composite power, which combines battery and ultra-capacitor, can use both characteristics of them. It has the high research value because it can effectively extend the travel distance of vehicle and the life of battery.In this paper, the vehicle controller for a pure electric vehicle with composite power is selected as the research object, the work mode for the composite power is set, the structure of composite power and the vehicle control network is designed; the control strategy based on logic threshold and fuzzy theory is set, the mode for the key components of vehicle in MATLAB/Simulink is built and the offline simulation is done; the functional requirements of the vehicle controller are analyzed, the hardware structure is designed, the key parts are selected, the separate functional modules are designed, and the controller is tested at last; the software based on the functional requirements is separated, the software is programed and the MATLAB RTW is used to do the automatic code generation with AUTOSAR standard automatically; the platform based on dSPACE for hardware in loop (HIL) test is set up and the vehicle controller is tested.The control strategy based on logic threshold and fuzzy theory which can achieve the energy distribution of composite power is validated by the offline simulation results; the controller hardware which can meet a series of standards of the state is validated by the hardware test; the reliability of the hardware and software of the vehicle controller and the vehicle control strategy which can meet the design requirements are also validated by the HIL test based on dSPACE.
