With the continuous development of national economy and the growing of constructionindustry, no matter from the perspective of country or from the interests of the people inmind, investment of the construction industry has received high attention from all walks oflife. It has close relationship with the state economic and trade and every aspect of people’slives. In recent years, the system of engineering construction management constantlyimproved and perfected in our country. Although it has made significant effect, there is still apart of the defect in practice. Project management can not considering the correlation ofprogress and cost, which has impact on expected effect of the project.This article not only expounds the project schedule and cost control theoryknowledge,and the advantage of the joint control of schedule and cost， but also brieflyanalyzed the applying in practice combined with a practice case.First, the paper mainly introduced the construction project management status at homeand abroad and the importance of the research. And it makes analysis of constructionschedule management methods and the existing problems that the project used now. In thischapter, the main research idea is put forward.Second, the paper introduces the progress and cost management method of technicaleconomy in detail and put forward the definition, development and basic idea of EarnedValue. Control model and Earned Value method to calculated model is established in thepaper including deviation analysis method.Third, examples of project overview presentation, including the characteristics of theproject, backgrounds, project construction period, the project schedule, investmentestimation and some problems and suggestions on the project.Finally, according to the construction of practical engineering project, using the abovemain ideas and methods to analysis the case. The paper emphatically expounds the jointproject schedule and cost control in the application of the actual case,and evaluates theprogress of joint control of engineering cost control effect.
