The phenomenon of mixed traffic is prominent in developing countries, such as China. Conflict of pedestrians, bicycles and vehicles is significant at intersections, which is an important node in urban traffic network. The interference not only leads to the decrease in traffic efficiency, traffic congestion, but also affects safety of residents’travel. It is not conducive to promotion of people-oriented transportation concept. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze deeply on interference between pedestrians and vehicles at intersections.Firstly, the development and research results of mixed traffic in domestic and overseas are summarized. And the research achievements are introduced from three aspects. These are microscopic characteristics of motor vehicles and pedestrians, interference of mixed traffic flow, microscopic theory of traffic.Secondly, the interference between vehicles and pedestrians at signal intersections is analyzed. Interference points, types and characteristics of interference between pedestrians and vehicles are studied in detail.Thirdly, based on the gap theory, capacity model of right-turn vehicles’lanes and sensitivity analysis are built. According to the measured data of the intersection in Jinan city, the capacity of right-turn vehicles’lane at the south entrance is calculated by using the model. The results are compared with the calculation results of HCM2000, which shows the higher accuracy and applicability of the deduced model during the process of evaluating the capacity of right-turn vehicles’lane at the signalized intersection. At the same time, the impact of crosswalk width and green ratio on right-turn vehicles’lane is studied. The sensitivity between capacity of right-turn vehicles’ lane and pedestrians flow is discussed. Finally, based on the analysis of mechanism between pedestrians and motor vehicles, principle of intersections’ improvements and factors of right-turn vehicles’ lane capacity, measures, which are to mitigate pedestrian and vehicle conflicts, are proposed.
